clutch/flywheel guide

it is possible to change the clutch and/or flywheel without removing the shafts, gearchange or hubs
if you take out the bellhousing bolts, front and rear mounts, 2 front crossmember bolts, starter bolt, speedo cable bolt and support the engine, then the g/box will drop to the floor

so basically all u have done unbolted the Gearbox and associated stuff and it comes off?

very handy if changing clutch, u dont even need to drom the oil

very usefull, like on fords, i never thought of doing it like that.

i dont know if admin want to put this thread in the guides ?

Although I'd stick to what I know, drive shafts out, new gearbox oil.bish bash bosh.

on yours, there,s a drain plug and a level plug, on a pre 98 1.0, you have to take the speedo drive out and fill it level with the plastic cog

Yeah, you can get the gearbox off without removing the driveshafts. I had to take the driveshafts off to get the gearbox back on - I found it difficult to centralize the new clutch with the gearbox in the way.
