what conversions can you do to a 95 micra?

hey guys thinking about taking out the 1.3L and putting an SR20 but some say no and some say yes it'll fit and work, but is there any other suggestions, type of engine? anything? and it'll be a big help if you can tell me the engine name and the car its originally in, thanks heaps guys

SR20 is a pretty heavy motor for a k11 (but quick), plus take into that when you update the engine, you'll have update everything else so it can cope...brakes, engine mounts, suspension/steering, ECU/loom etc

Why not just modify the 1.3?
full exhaust & extractors, cams, induction kit, turbo.... ?

the reason why is cause my micra has already done 230,000 something kms already and i rather work on an engine thats in the early first 100,000.. and i rather a bigger engine with the light weight of the car it'll be a great combo.

N14 sounds interesting.. would it fit straight in? by the way i do have a super s, so would i be looking to change much on the car? "brakes" etc? sorry guys dnt knw much aye..

Drop in a N15 1.6 and turbo that or the VVT one? I've thought about the N15 turboed, makes power not far off double what the micra makes (86kw)

got to be honest, wasnt exactly thinking about buying one asap, low on budget at the moment, but how much wer u after? and dude i dnt knw much about cars and stuff, i jus know that i got abs brakes :S sorry man

Without trying to sound harsh, I think you should probably start with something a little simpler since nothing other than a CG13/CGA3 will bolt directly in (and even then I don't know if the CGA3 did have the mounts changed) it's probably not the best idea to look at doing a conversion straight off. There's a lot of things to consider in doing a conversion including doing the GA16 or SR20 and definitely a fair bit of custom work involved in doing so.

There's a lot of info here if you search and a lot on the MSC as well. You can use the <a href="http://micra.com.au/community/search.php">search function</a> to find other topics on the issue.

For the record, I'm pretty sure that SFJ was just saying he was doing the conversion rather than selling it. There's no reason to buy a GA16 from Finland when you can pick up one locally for a few hundred, too.

I wouldn't say super duper yet Fred, I just have not busted the box yet! Have plans on changing the gearbox in the future if i decide to keep the car.
