Weak heater blower caused by pollen filter

If you've got poor performance from you heater blower and you don't know when your pollen filter was last changed (if you have one) then I'd recommend changing it. I changed the one in my partners 16 year old Micra 1.0 Profile, with 101k miles, at the weekend. The heater blower had been really poor and this was the reason. It looked like the original factory filter had never been changed as it was a Nissan Calsonic one and the access panel had never been cut. Here's a photo showing the old one and the new one before fitting. The blower works much better now.

Clearly not, as this one is a manual. I read that all facelifts without air conditioning had pollen filters and that was true in our case.

Thanks, though I was kinda hoping not to have one. The heater blower seems fairly ok, but we'll see how it copes with colder weather.
