Two lil problems

I got two lil problems with my 1998 1.3GX

First one is the brakes, everytime I brake, I get a grinding, rubbing sound from the rear. Not really concerned about this one as it's probably just a case of getting the rear wheels off and either changing the disks or giving it a good clean.....I hope...:suspect:

However, the 2nd problem is the heating. It takes aaaaaaaaaaaages for the heating to get warm, it's blowing the air, but literally takes forever to get warm.

Any ideas on this one?

Ta muchly...

yeah the heaters take ages to get warm anyways, its coz they dont work unless your engine is warm.

yeah the brakes sound like the pads have worn down to the metal, as you say just whip em off and have a look

The heating could be your thermostat, the thermostat restricts the water flow allowing the engine to warm up quickly then opens once it is warm enough.

Might be stuck open.

discs, drums, its all brakes innit....

I'll try and nip to Halfwits this arvo and pick up a manual and thermostat and give it a try. Next weekends chore is the brakes...

Oh, and cleaning and polishing it, again....o_O
