Tank guards

Hi guys does anyone know of a good way to make up a tank guard for A k11? I'm doing a rough road rally and need to sort Something for the back end. Have already sorted a sump guard but can't figure a sensible way for the tank.

the guys on here cut the bottom from another tank i believe dan

Yep just that. fill the bottom half with ply wood and PU foam before you strap it on over the current tank.

Cheap and easy to do - what event are you doing?

Or you can buy them ready made on fleabay (expensive route)

I'm doing the Preston Road rally. Does anyone have any pics of this? Will it all fit in the standard tank straps?

That's how our rally car started her life by doing the preston, will try and get some pics at the weekend, Standard strap fit, but did have to space them out a bit using a few nuts.

Did you make it through ok? What other prep did you do for her?

First time we did it, we didn't event have a tank guard, just a sump guard. Both times we finished fine.

Water proofing was the biggest issue, i found by trial and error the standard air box with a shorter feedpipe was the best at keeping water out of the engine.

Sounds good why did you need it shorter? I thaught it was well tucked away

any water hitting the headlamp is channeled down the side of it eh matt, and straight down the snorkel
