swaping of engine cam cover

i presently having the black colour plastic cam cover
due to a carelessness i broke one of the plastic piping on it
can i get a uk spec micra metal cam cover and replaced?
will it be the same?

how about different in engine meaning cg10 and cg13?

i got another question
i actually intend to polish the uk spec micra metal engine cover to shiny chrome but my friend forbid me to do it saying it is not good for the engine is that so?

i got another friend driving a presea who have his engine cover polish also say he regret doing it

i just want to know why is it so? any idea?

oic hmmm tink i just wash the cover and spray black instead
