soooo.....
at the end of the year im thinking due to cheaper (very much cheaper) insurance, i will be selling a nice super s micra.
i will be doing some modifications to it, i.e remote central locking, custom grill and hopefully a black suede fabric on the inside of the roof.
by this time i am hoping to get it upto mint condition, so im just wondering guys, how much would you pay for it?
im looking for around £600, so if you think i could get it for more or less then please say.
only reason why, is that my money is getting invested into a nice vintage car, either a vw beetle or a ford capri

vw beetle..... o_O purrrffff!! your opinion i guess...

Yeah £500-£600 sounds like a good start point, need to know a few details yet....

What MOT will it have
Tax?
Mileage?
Wheels and tyre tread?

You'd get more for it if it was as standard as possible, but the central locking would help. In addition to the above post, what's the bodywork like?

hmm i would say hopefully mileage will be around 100,000 mark, maybe even under.

well i will keep it as standard as possible then, just means i can save up more :)

and looking at the beetle, im not too keen on it, i just want a retro car, so my way is swaying towards a ford capri

and i will get new tyres when the time comes, so hopefully fresh tyres will be in order

bodywork: the odd stone chip here and there but no dents or kinks what-so-ever

mot and tax will be until july 2009, as im going for a years tax when it runs out

i will post more towards the time, but central locking will be a definate yes.

any advice on how to make the most out of the micra and get the most money would be nice :) and any other information too

thanks

Keep it clean and serviced well, when you come to sell it, make sure it has a decent amount of tax and mot..

Ford Capri's are meant to have some rubbish handling aren't they? If you wanna go retro, go golf!

well so far its been serviced every 10,000 miles.

around how much do you think for a service? im hoping to do 2 in this next 10,000

well its £50 for an oil change, then all the other stuff ontop....about £120.....

Cant you do it yourself?

Price varies depending on the parts used and if you do it yourself or take it to a garage. You could probably get cheap frauds & motor factor parts and do it for less than £50, or you could spend £40 alone on a set of leads from Nissan!

pictures are in the blog page

well im only getting a proper service for the stamps, but if everyone trusts me and wants to check, i will perform a service myself, that way i know whats been done, but i promise a proper service will be done

ooh get a capri- never drove one myself, but the handling should be great, the 2.8i's had a reputation- but I think that was mainly due to V6 torque, LSD and light rear end with an idiot up front!

I had a 60 BHP RWD escort (same setup, mac struts up front, live axle and cart springs on the back) and the handling was phenomenal. IMHO of course

wel i have just opened up a savings account, so it will be a ford capri hopefully

im looking for a 1.6, and if i can get it in black, im going to get my auntie to paint a design on the bonnet and get it laquered over so i have myself a custom paintjob on the bonnet :)

but yeah im keeping the micra in tip-top condition, so come the time if anyone fancies a micra by christmas, i will subscribe for a sellers account and pop it on

We recently stripped a Capri, got a 2.0litre pinto engine with gearbox, prop, rear axle. All ready to go into a 1963 Ford Anglia. lol.

est of luck finding a good conditioned capri tho fella.

well whatever gives the incentive for people to buy it for £500-£600 i can do as much as possible.
i mean apart from a few stone chips, this is a very nice micra.
i will be putting underseal on it when i get paid next too

Super S's can retain some value over other micra's if the condition is good enough. Speedle sold his for more than that iirc.

ok so i shall write down the stats of what it will be like when i goto sell it in december, and see what people think

micra super s red
very good clean interior, no rips or tears
bodywork nice, apart from a few stone chips e.t.c the bodywork is perfect, no dents e.t.c
under 100,000 on the clock (around 80,000-90,000 mark)
jbl gto 6x9's, pioneer cd player
tax & mot until july 2009
serviced every 10,000 miles
engine bay cleaned up, nice, mechanically sound
comes with central locking, full service history, log book and even the user manual first given
wheel tread, either new or almost new tyres

what do people think i could get?
any advice welcome
