When you say thin tracer wire, I think you mean remote lead. This should also plug into the amp. On the amp you should have 3 inputs, one if which will be the power lead (12v), the other is the earth which should be attached to the chassis of the car, and the other is the remote lead which could be why the amp aint working. Let us know the outcome. :)

ok yes there is a remote lead point on the amp but were does it conect to on the head?

ok dad, listen up. i think i know whats up...
you gonna have to wire the remote wire to the amp then to the (blue?) wire on the back of stereo... should be labelled remote or 3amp... iirc
then turn head unit on to power up the amp...
if this dont work i have another fix...

ok did that got 12/13v when car running on remote wire 12v on main input still no light neon or sound wots next the neon is marked power protector

is it grounded properly??? i.e scrathed surface wher you have it grounded...
usual ground point is the left(as you look at it) bracket for the rear bench.. take screw out, scratch surface and touch ground wire should spark when all connected...

have you any pics of setup...
and list of makes of equipment used??

will try to help as best we can...

Where does the blue wire connect to on the back of the head unit?

It should run to a wire called P con :)

Thats what makes you amp turn on

yes it is grounded correctley as i have tested with muliti meter and it is now conected to wire as described at head unit .still no light neon as described before.

sorry i am stuck for ideas if you have wired it all correctly...

maybe get somone to look at it... i would if you were local to a-u-l...

sorry dad :(

try this.....

Splice the end of your power cable, then put part to the 12v input and part to the remote. This will give a permanent feed to the remote, therefore turning the amp on at all times.

If this powers the amp on then the problem lies with your HU or remote cable.

To install and run an amplifier you need:

- Thick power lead running directly to the battery (with inline fuse)
- Same thickness short ground cable running directly to car chassis, bolted down to a bare metal piece of bodywork (sand the paint and primer back)
- Signal (RCA) cables from headunit to amp
- REM Remote turn-on cable (usually blue) from headunit to amp

If the amp doesnt turn on when you turn your headunit on, and the fuses are all ok, and the headunit is outputting 12V on the REM line, then the amp is fubbered.

hurra did as advised by MR fish360 and we got it boom boom SHAKE THE room "well car" so all I ave to do now is find the correct feed from the head unit
top banana
the amp is well!!
