Steel wheel nuts on alloys?

Got some 13'' Nissan fondmetal alloys and was tempted to just whack 'em on with the steel wheel nuts but got horror stories in the noggin putting me off.

Doable or potentially dangerous?

I ran steel nuts for a while when I first put my alloys on... worked ok but couldn't get a socket on the nut perfectly naturally rounded one off... I went from stock 21mm to 19mm alloy nuts cheap enough on ebay.

I'm using steel wheel nuts... Have been for nearly a year... One of those things I need to buy... Just Havnt got round to it :L x

Doable but not advised. I bought ones with as wide a cone base as possible and weren't that expensive
