something broke help

ok day before im getting manifold on something has broke,

i was driving and there was a loud clang coming from the gear stick (sounded like the linkage)

and now when i wiggle it , it sounds like something has snapped and you can hear it outside coming from the heat shield underneath where the linkage is.
Now the gear stick is slack (like leaning when its in neutral)

the car still drives and selects all gears

any ideas?

hmm dunno it doesnt feel like that ( i could be wrong though) becuase of the loose gear stick ill have a better idea tomorrow when i jack it up in the light but i was just thinking on some ideas before i get at it.

You can fix the spring, just bend a new end onto it.

gear shifter return spring...my mums is broke aswell, been like since she brought the car lol...the spring is quiet small. easy engough to replace

Spring definately mate, a very cheap repair.
