My mums K12 SVE and dads N16 Almera both have the parking sensors
...they have always been a bit hit and miss
...oddly they only seem to work properly on the rare occasions that I drive one of their cars....but I couldn't tell you why that is
The only thing I can suggest it to make sure the sensors (little bits on the bumper) are clean and not being obstructed (causing them to beep constantly)
We only use the beeping noise as an indication we're in reverse *facepalm*
