Republic of ireland driving...

i am looking to go the republic of ireland and taking my car, i am going to see if my car insurance covers me over there but:

is my UK driving licence valid there?

can i take my car and not have to tell the DVLA or anything (im only going for a week or weekend?

i just dont want any legal bother if i go

Yes you should be fine, insurance is the only thing you have so sort.
