K10 vs K11

Hello everybody, I am from czech republic and I want and going to buy Nissan Micra 1,3... but I still didn't decided which model. I want older one K10 or K11... I want it especialy for performance tuning for the drag racing here in czech republic for nissan meeting. All I know about performance of these micras is that K10 asi lighter than K11, but it's carburetor 40kW and K11 is 55kW. I was just wondering if anyone here will be able to tell which of these models has better accelartion in stock version and if somebody has experiences with performance tuning of these two models. Any advice is very appreciated so thanks in advance

Mechanically for ultimate power probably K11, 16v turbo potential (i know you probably could with k10 but its harder and k11 has more valves!), bigger capacity engine etc.

But i'd still go for the K10!
 
K11, theres specific performance parts for this car, unlike the k10

though i love the K10 :p
My Stock 1.0 k10 has thrashed a 1.0 k11 ( and corsas for that matter )

Buut in the end, the K11 has a 1.3 option which is a good starting point ;)
 
I am pretty sure that engine of K11 is more advance than one in K10. At least it's injection, with 16 valves and twin cam. But the K10 is much lighter and that's why I am not able to decide which one. I can increase the performance of the K10, but I cannot decrease weight of K11 that much as K10. And still there is another aspects like transmissions. I can have two same wight car with two different engines one stronger than other one. and the stronger one will be slower because of very long gears. This trasmission is too much specific info, that's why I am asking you here because I don't know where else I could find such info's... I definetly want 1.3 version either K10 or K11 and without turbo. And I am not going to implement. Just a purely atmospheric engine

sooo... do you think that K11 is better for drag racing than K10? Does anybody here know how long it takes to K10 to do 0-100 ??? I found some info that K11 manage it in 10.7s and that pretty good time I guess for 1.3 litters engine
 
the achilles heel on the k10 is the g/box ricky :eek: (they let go at 75hp+, just ask the autograsser guys)
you can easily/cheaply get 100hp from a CG, and easily get the weight down to 700kg,s (pre98 1.0 running gear)
(=16sec 1/4 mile ?) :)
 
how do you get 700kgs frank? I thought k11's were more in the mid 800kg region??

with the lighter pre98 1.0 g/box, f/w + clutch, the thinner shafts/cv,s, seats etc removed, perspex r 1/4 windows and sunroof, 3 towing/tiedown brackets removed, and loads of little bits that i,ve cut down or removed during the last 2yrs :wasntme:
 
frank i looked up the ncap results for a pre 98 1ltr. Its says 848kgs. You are the last person I would disagree with, so I must have made a mistake at some point.

yes ricky, my post before the last was intending to suggest that the optimum would be a k10 chasis with k11 (or higher capacity) cg engine.
 
there is no 1.3 k10, the highest engine size they go is 1.2.
I know, but there is just difference of 40ccm so it's almost the same size K10 is 1235ccm and K11 has 1275... almost no difference, but OK

2Frank: 1.0 has shorted gearbox than 1.3? Does it fit without any improvement to 1.3?

2richj: I found out that K11 weights 825kg

I think that I am incline towards K11... oh I and I saw 1.3 Super S, LX and SLX can someone shortly describe the differences between those models? If I'm right Super S has ABS and do not has drum brakes in the back, but what is the other differences? Are there just equipment differences or also some technicals?

As I already said, I don't want micra with turbo... at least there is no turbo micra in our country and I don't want to search it abroad... so I am looking for non turbo version at home

thats no bother man,just would'nt be a car I'd build a drag car out of, maybe a high powered cg13 engined k11 ?Stripped out completely

2frank: so can I put there just a gearbox from 1.0? It seems that it has bit shorted gears which could be usefull for drags and if it's bit lighter then it's just one more reason why to put it there. 107hp??? :p I'd like to have to same power, that's preeeetty nice

2Baz: ahaa... so that's the mean :)) This turbo one has to be incredible, but it's almost impossible to find any of those turbocharged, but anyway if I will drive car with turbo I'll be no more in category 1.3l, but I guess maybe I'll be driving against 2.0l and that's not what I want
 
better to put the 1.3 engine into the (lighter) base model 1.0 ricky (like mine) :)
I think I got your point. So am I correct when thinking that every part from 1.0 K11 will fit into 1.3 K11 and vice versa? Like for example cluctch, gearbox or even suspension? I am not sure if I will want to replace whole engine so I am just thinking that I will buy K11 1.3 and put there gearbox from 1.0, but don't know if it will fit. I just guess so
 
no ricky, the pre98 1.0 f/w, clutch, g/box, gearchange, mounts and shafts are more akin to the k10, and are different to the other k11,s :)
 
oh... bad luck, I was planning to replace the gearbox with that from 1.0. I was hoping that it will be possible when the engines are actualy the same and the car platform is the same... nevermind... anyway I am going to check one micra this saturday. Should be model 1.3 Super S 1995 in red color for cca 600GBP... I don't know how's the prices in UK, but in czech republic it's prety cheap :blush:
 
OK... so that micra was piece of junk. I get that low price now :glare:
anyway... is somebody please able to tell me differences betwen LX, SLX and Super S ????
