I got this from Kristian. No probs with it. Its fitted now but when kristian had it on it roared when he accelerated.

On mine it doesnt,

Dissapointed really about this. What could make it not do it?

Could it be because its only a 1 litre and not a 1.3 like kristians or is it cause i dont have a Induction kit?

You only have a 1 liter, without an induction kit and with a standard exhaust system apart from the backbox...
Change some of the above things to make it roar... i had the same box and it sounded nice and deep...

yeah induction kit is a big help n i got a standard exhaust.

btw get a 1.3

yo dude, i got a pipercross induction kit for sale, you can have it for £50. Made my exhaust roar and i only have a 1 litre. Comes with oil breather and cold air hose thing - lemme know

remove the middle silencer/ 2nd cat, that will help lots and car wont fail mot either

andy_s kristian does have a performance manifold, not sure if it was on at the time though,but the air filter he has on must make it alot louder to because his was always alot louder than mine

a janspeed manifold will make the exaust sound alot better, removing the cat is illegal and will fail an mot

oh ye, he has a boost valve too if that effects it.

Basically Kristian was running 1.3 modded, with a basic induction kit mine roars louder at 3500rpm and above

removing the first cat is illegal but not the second cat, the second cat acts as a silencer too so removing that will make it roar, i have a standard backbox and an induction with the silencer removed and replaced with just a peice of exhaust pipe, sounds good

the one under the car is the main one..the one in the manifold hardly does anything

its the opposite way round, the one on the manifold is the main one, the second is just a silencer, my car passed its mot with the 2nd silencer removed because the cheeky sods wrote on the pipe welded in its place. they wrote RACE VIAGRA!

my standard 1.0l roars... its got piperX cone filter and breather filter...

the cone filter gives a low humm but roars when you give it a bit....

piperX will turn your mieow into a deep roar...

i am not sure about which cat (1st/2nd) does what... i think the answer lies in why nissan put two on the car in the first place....????

ok it roars now. all i did for now is take the black airfilter box off and left it open sounds just like kristians now hehe. You got a pic of the induction kit mate? im after a green cotton one to be honest. but depends on price of that.

Sounds a little dangerous.

You can mod your airbox by putting holes on the top

not dangerous. Because nothing can get down the air filter as theres a mesh infront. It will do for now

Dirt will go in... the mesh isnt tight, sand or glass could go in easily..
Yes it will blow your engine..

I thought you meant left the lid of the filter off, but the whole filter.....erm....crazy!!
The mesh on the throttle body works for the nice chunky bits

I'd like to see how long the engine lasts!

go for a cheapy motorworld airfilter... works just fine...

yer i'd get a universal air filter,they make it sound alot nicer and no risk of engine damage
