Removing Back Seats

Does removing the back seats of a micra effect the insurance? Or should I just ask the insurance company? lol, Thanks.
EDIT: Also any idea about how much they weigh?

I did this a while back with my 1.0, and it made only the slightest bit of difference. Hardly noticeable - and this was with the spare, carpets and most of the dash removed as well. Not sure about insurance but I doubt it would affect it.

Unless your trying to weight save for a track day its not worth it tbh, the complete rear bench weighs around 10-15kg i think.

Technically your making your car a 2 seater in the eyes of some insurance companies, so they may refuse to insure you. No need to tell them however as there is little gain to be had from doing it, i personally wouldn't bother unless i was going for a track day.

I have taken my rear bench seats out and all the carpet and plastic trim!

1. i removed them due to not having use for it as i have fixed buckets

2.it looks great when sprayed Matt black

3.loads of room for tools

4. like they say a slight difference in less weight
