Rear window rubber

Hello again,

The exterior rubber/plastic that goes around the rear boot hatch window is in poor condition and coming out

Main agent want£100 for new one... Far too much

I THINK it's cosmetic only and I can remove, is that correct?

If so what does it look like removed?

Alternative is to 'pad out' with rope (as deep) and fill with black window sealant. Anyone done that

mine was binned years ago wiffers, re-sealing it usually looks gash
