Hi All,

I brought some lights and I am having trouble getting my money back from the seller. I was going to make this a thread poll but I dont think I have access to do so... so could you just post if you think they are faulty or not...

I have uploaded images of the beam of the new (faulty) headlights (Depo Lights) and I have also uploaded images of the beam of normal standard lights to compare.

Thanks very much all.

I may also use this thread as evidence if I need to open a PayPal dispute (thought i'd best let you know).

Yeah, not sure how though, the inner shield on the dipped beam filament has been positioned incorrectly. A very rare case as usually the reflector does all the work, definatley faulty I'd say.

Left hooker

Looks to me as though the Depo lights have been setup for left hand drive - they certainly won't pass an MOT in this country like that.
Talk to the suppliers as soon as possible, ideally before the statutary 14 days 'cooling off' period.

thanks for confirming that.. :) unfortunatly its been bit longer then 14 days now (took a while to get around to fitting them with work and that..) but Im battling it out in paypal with him...

on ebay these lights are specificaly sold for taiwanese march's that drive on the right hand side of the road.
unless his advert specificaly states that these are for uk spec micra's, i doubt very much you have a case.
they arent faulty at all. they work perfectly as they are supposed to. just theyre not designed for your car.

in british retail law if you buy something, unless its faulty, the seller doesnt NOT have to refund your money. they are advised that for good customer service to do so if you are unsatisfied, but its not law. if the item is faulty or does not conform to its "reasonable useage" then the seller is advised to either repair the goods or offer a working replacement, again, no refund is given by law.

the only time a refund would be given is if the goods were mis-sold. so if they were sold as "brand new, suitable for LHD micras" then indeed in the uk, they are legaly obligated to offer a refund or in some cases a replacement for the item advertised.
again in the case of a faulty item, if they are sold as seen, a refund is not legaly obligated.

these lights may point the wrong way but did you read the advert? i know that sounds a little blunt and its not anything against you. but ive been caught out by this kind of thing before.

in that case, you need all correspondance from the seller and contact paypal with it.
if you cannot prove what he said. i am sorry i dont think you can get a refund...

just read that site. the projector ones are for RHD as are e-marked and the projector is adjustable. the black and clear lights are not e-marked and wouldnt pass an mot anyway. besides the fact they are refracted the wrong way.

The seller did tell me before I made an order they will fit an English RHD (left-drive) car. I asked by email and he said yes they will be correct.

I then made an order and put in the order comments in block capital letters I need the lights for an english RHD (left-drive) car and told him not to process the order if he does not have these. I luckily have a screen-dump of this and more then happy to pass it in paypals direction
