paint??

Do not go to halfords or motor world or any place like that..

this stuff is designed to be able to sit on a shelf for months and months..

Go to a proper AUTO paint suppliers.. You get it mixed there and then for you much much more in a can and its 10x better finish..

I could get a can posted over to you if you wish.. I go to mine about 3 times a week as I get welding gas, sheet metal and all my fibreglass supplies there..

I pay 9 quid plus VAT for a can and its about 3x times as much as a large halfords can, which is around a tenner anyway.. iirc

agreed the on shelf stuff is, but that stuffs crap anyway.
the Holts "minimix" stuff you get made for you is made there and then whenever you want it, it is acrylic based so it wont go off and is 100% the correct colour. i used to mix this stuff at halfords 10x a day. its made to within 0.001 of a gram. much closer to the manufacturers paint than any off the shelf stuff.
however, they charge an extorsionate amount for it, its £11.99 for 300ml. £17.99 for 500ml. thats just plain Expensive

i brought some KLO starburst silver from halfords...coded my door handles and it didnt even match! its right off lol.

depends who mixed it, theres some right dodgy half witted morons working there..... thats why i left. i just didnt fit in..lol:doh:

i got told it was the employee of the month who mixed it...

i could just make out the top half of the straight jacket in the ''employee of the month photo on the wall''

:D

My old man got AJ4 from his local spray place, just made him a can up.....very good match. Think it may have been Holts colourmatch or something........I hate the finishes which have a laquer topcote though.....white is so much easier!

yeah its the same stuff halfords use. from a company called "bodycare"

i havent ever laquered my aj4, just painted it propperly and polished it. (or not in many cases..lol)

Ah rite......I just hate it because of the laquer eventually shedding with time......tends to go around the aerial firment. The supers was done from scratch with good old twin pack though.

im in need of a respray. my paintwork is just... for want of a better word, begins with S and rhymes with kite...

Went to a local paint specialist to get my car colour scanned (so they can fax that to my body shop to get an exact match) and it came out as 99% correct to being XXX (cant remember the exact name) but it wasnt Aj4 Flame Red!
