Overheating problem?

Changed the engine today from 1.0 to 1.3, an when I started it up the temperature gauge went up to hot, so changed thermostat an it's still the same anyone know what could be wrong ?

Havnt a clue yet? Started first turn after been lying up for nearly a year, not burning oil just think it's the water pump?

Could be water pump is it sounding unhealthy? Best thing to do is to have a look...

It's a actually running better than the engine I took out an that only had 46,000 miles, I just think it's the pump or a blockage somewhere

I think there's a lil whining noise coming from water pump so I'll whip it off Tomorow

Did the temp gauge go straight up as soon as you started it or do you mean after 5-10 mins.

After bout 2 mins, if ur looking at the gauge u can see it climbing fast

You sure it's not the temp sensor for the gauge. Does your fan come on when it gets hot as that's run from a different sensor via the ecu.

Fan doesn't come on no, engine doesn't really fell too hot either I'm gonna change the sensor as frank said they might be different rating on the jap engine

Sounds like it's just the temp sensor then eh. Hope you sort it.

It was the temp sensor that fixed the gauge, but it still went up after a drive so changed the water pump and everything is perfect now
