old and new K11's

Does any one know if the bonnet clip on the old Micra's are the same as the newer 98 onwards K11's?

i know the bonnet catch is different (the lever you lift to get the bonnet up) but im not sure about the mechanism etc

should imagine the catch is the same but maybe mounted differently because the bonnet is different on the facelift

I really don't see them changing the front end or latch for what they would see as a simple style up date

Sure its different as when Paynee tried to go from facelift to pre - he couldn't do it as the catches were different.

did a simple catch replacement sort his problems out?

Think it was going to be a realy ###### to sort - so he didn't bother.

if the cross member is the same can't he just get a latch off a wrecked car and swap the latches?

Not sure - it theory yea i would say - but the latches are in different places are they not?

My Neigbor said he belives that the facelift model has compleatly remastered bonnet, new clips, new shape, new hooks e.t.c

But he said there is no need for a facelift bonnet to be installed on a ordinary car or in visa versa, so he said thats its not for them to give exact details...

ive replaced front ends on micras...

What needs changing is the Latching mechanism and the small brace bar that the latch sits on... its the Centre vertical one about a foot long that attaches the bottom crossmember to the slam bar...

Facelift 'small brace bars' can be modified with a grinder to suit pre-faclift.

but not visa versa
