I'm new here, I'm in the market for a micra for the purpose of cheap motoring the fun way. At the moment I drive a '92 Cit ZX 1.9td, which is not getting cheaper to run with todays diesel prices. I prefer a petrol engine anyway. So to save running costs, I wanted a petrol car that does more mpg than my zx td, cheaper on tax (£100 every 6 months is a fact of life yes, but £60 is better). Tyres, battery, bits, tax, fuel, etc it all makes sense to buy a micra, i didn't think much of the styling at first, but the sportier ones are pretty cool.
In the past i've had two bmw 325i, 4 citroens, a xantia 2.1, xantia v6, xm 2.0i turbo, now a zx, a volvo 360glt, fiesta 1.0, vauxhall cav 1.6 (old old shape), pug 106 1.4d, and two Ford Escorts, one old one new, the older one got stolen and set alight after a midnight joyride... on anglesey too!
Anyway, I've got a budget of £1000, and I'm after a 1998 Micra 1.3 in good nick, preferably with abs, pas, air con, sunroof (can they be had with both?). Should be possible! A later 1.4 would be nice, but they are too expensive at the moment.
Oh, my sister bought a 1995 1.0 before me, so now I will get accused of copying her when I get my Micra! I will pass mine onto my wife when she passes her test in 2010.
