my micras almost ready to go back on the road so was on the prowl for a new project when i got offered a mates mx5 import for £350. he said it needed a new rear shock and it burns oil over 6k rpm. seeing as ones without engines go for £600 on ebay i thought why the hell not offered him 300 and he accepted. got it yesterday and chuffed with it. elec windows, nearly new hood, decent sound system, air con, pas ,only a tiny bit of rust, handles great even with the blown shock, and came with 10 months mot and tax :) sadly my insurance isnt due for renewal so plan is to fix and mod this over the winter using the micra in the meantime. Anyway picturers :grinning:

brilliatn mate! theres amazing, i just picked up my one on saturday, wee blue one, slammed n cammed. , sooo much fun!!! :D

Absolute bargain. Im very jealous.
I had a mk1 import (Eunos) a couple of years back and miss it dearly.
They handle great as long as you use good tyres. I lost the back in a wet round about due to some old pirellis which had loads of tread left. Caused loads of damage to the side. Came round so quick and I couldnt catch it.
If the one shock has gone you need to replace the other at the same time naturally. Hell for that money get a set all round as they are all probably past their best.
Have fun.
If you are replacing the engine, the stock 1600 is great and some prefer it to the 1800 even with less power. You dont need much power as the car is light weight.
