Well my car's just flown through its MOT with flying colours however i was charged £55 just for the MOT. Isnt this a bit steep!? Im interested to know how much other people charge for theirs.

£55 is the correct price for the MOT, its just that most places discount the MOT to get trade through their doors. Although there is no law agaist offering discounted MOT's it is frown upon by the govn. I think i paid £40 last year, but it was the only place that could get me onto his ramps though.

Thanks for that mike. I dont feel too bad about it now you've said that, however i will definitly look elsewhere in future! Last year i had to have minor work done which made the whole thing come to £100. He didnt break down what was for parts / mot so i didnt really worry about it at the time.

arnold mate u better go back with evidence ask for the doe, not alot i not but its the prinicpal, daylight robbiery...

Right well i spoke to the guy and he said he doesnt have the qualification to carry out the MOT's himself. What he does is check the car over to ensure it will get through, then takes it to someone else to do it! I reckon the extra amount i paid covered this 'service' of checking the car & putting whatever's wrong, right before it gets done.

Anyway, it'l go to someone else next time!
