Thanks for the message.

Regarding the quote, could I ask you to ring the office please on 0800 917 2274 or 01580 752961 if calling from a mobile – Mon-Fri 9am till 5pm, Sat 9am till noon.
It’s just that I don’t actually do the quotes, as I spend a lot of my time travelling the country on business and work from home also.
We have a specialist team who should be able to help you based on the details you’ve stated.

Thanks!

The scheme really took off in 2008 - better than we expected - so thanks to those of you who insured on it.

We look forward to being of service in 2009 as well.

nitrous modified vehicles

Hi Tim,

Do you know, do Chris Knott policies insure nitrous oxide modified vehicles for 'regular'/'everyday' road use (wizards of nos / high power systems international equipment..ofcourse)?

So far, I know of only 3 in the UK

Adrian Flux (my current road-use nitrous insurers)
Green Light
Brentacre

I shouldn't really be shopping around since Flux are giving be excelent value (considering the inclusion of a nitrous kit)... but it would be encouraging for more insurers / underwriters to regognise this type of modification without the "step-away...(nitrous is crazy....just like on the fast and furious movie)" reaction, that the majority of insurers give you when enquiring.

Thanks in advance Tim :)

Richard

D'oh!!!

I would however like an explanation, from an insurers perspective, why a roll cage deems a car uninsurable, (most of the classics I drive have roll cages).

D'oh!!!

I would however like an explanation, from an insurers perspective, why a roll cage deems a car uninsurable, (most of the classics I drive have roll cages).

Unfortunately, our scheme insurers aren't keen on roll cages as, even though they are a safety addition, there has been a high claims loss ratio on cars with roll cages!

so its down to collected statistics (no surprises) in the case of roll cages

but I guess these are much more popular occurance in road-going vehiles than nitrous oxide use...and I bet the quantity of statistics and loss ratio is not such an issue for nitrous compared with the subject of a roll-cage?

Something else interesting....

I did a "go-compare" with a nitrous kit declaired...and to my joy "HSBC insurance" quoted...the price was higher than my current arangements with "flux"...but now thats potentially 4 companies that are recognising nitrous oxide as a legitimate 'forced-induction' modification (like turbocharging and supercharging)......and not just dismissing it due to the "fast-and-the-furious movie" stereotype

interesting stuff

EDIT:..i called HSBC tonight to confirm....

...the web quote was refered to teh underwriter....the operator was SURE??!! that no refered applications have EVER come back to the broker approved......she verbally checked with her shift manager and a quick "NO" came bask...(all mods declaired)...than I asked if the nitrous kit was teh only modification...and she came abck even quicker with another "NO"....it seems that the manager's oppinion is fairly significant....

the operator was good crack though even if the magager was a little nitrous overse

oh well :)

A GOOD REASON TO PHONE US IF YOUR RENEWAL IS DUE IN MARCH!

March is generally one of the busiest months of the year for car insurance.

There are a few reasons for this -

Firstly, the new car registrations come out so plenty of new cars to insure.

Secondly, this means that people who buy new cars, sell their existing ones which are then bought & insurance is needed for them.

Thirdly, a major insurance company went bust in the early 1970's in March which left a lot of people without insurance meaning they had to get new policies immediately. There were long queues outside brokers with people waiting to get covered! This means that many of the affected, older generation still have March renewal dates!

And on a totally personal level, we have just had our record week since we instigated these forum insurance schemes so we must be doing something right!

Therefore, if your renewal is due in March, please feel free to give us a call and don't forget to mention the club scheme reference number found in my signature below or in my initial post which started this thread.

0800 917 2274 or 01580 752961 if calling by mobile.

Just a quick note to thank those of you who have tried the club insurance scheme.

In March, we have recorded our best ever week for club 'business' - nearly double that of our previous record set in February, which was remarkable in itself! I had to recheck the figures myself!

This is all due to the fact that people on sites like this have rung us & taken out policies. We must be doing something right!

Just to let you know our opening hours are Monday to Friday, 9am till 5pm & Saturday morning, 9am till noon.

(Please don't forget to quote the club scheme reference number when you ring for a quote).

Hot off the press!

In 2009 so far, we have saved our new customers a recorded average of £60 (£60.10 to be exact!) off their BEST quote, not just their renewal price, but their BEST quote!
In fact, so successful is the scheme that we have taken on additional staff & next week we have a meeting to look at taking on further personnel!

So, if your insurance is due in the next few weeks, please give us a call freephone on 0800 917 2274 (or 01580 752961 if calling by mobile) and don't forget to state the club reference number found either in my signature or in my introductory post when we first set up the scheme. Insurers find that club/forum users are better 'risks' statistically so make sure you mention the club!

Don't forget to check the criteria you must adhere to, e.g. age, etc.

With August being the second busiest month of the year, after March, I expect quite a few of you are coming up for your car insurance renewal.

Please feel free to give us a call when you receive your renewal papers through. I have collated a large list of excellent feedback from those who have already rung us so thank you for that.

Our average recording saving for our new customers in 2009 is £60.02 off their BEST quote so now you know why we have had to take on more staff!

The number is 0800 917 2274 or 01580 752961 if calling by mobile and PLEASE DON'T FORGET TO QUOTE THE CLUB NAME & REFERENCE NUMBER found in either my signature or my original post introducing the scheme!

IT'S WORTH RINGING US BECAUSE........

Well, after my post about August being the second busiest month of the year for car insurance renewals, we have in the last week recorded our BEST EVER income regarding providing insurance for forum users (and their families). That's in 26 years!

If your renewal is due in the next 21 days, please don't hesitate to give us a call on 0800 917 2274 or 01580 752961 if calling by mobile and PLEASE DON'T FORGET TO QUOTE THE CLUB NAME & REFERENCE NUMBER found in either my signature or my original post introducing the scheme!

Don't forget to check out the original thread stating minimum ages, etc, for the scheme

NEW IDEA!!!!!! WHAT DO YOU THINK?

We are looking at launching a system whereby, to get a quote from us, you have the option of sending your details by email to us and then we will contact you with the quote.

This would also assist those who can't get ring us during working hours or those who would just prefer to correspond through the forum.

My question is would this be helpful to you?

I'd appreciate your comments.

yes mate very helpfull, id say it would do yourselves a favor to as you would always have a 'paper trail' for future comebacks.

There is no doubting the success of our insurance scheme and we do thank all of you for ringing us.
However, we are often asked about online quoting.

The scheme is such that it is impossible to quote online but we have an idea!

We prefer people to ring us for a quote but if you're car insurance renewal is due within the next 21 days, please feel free to complete the questions below, then copy & paste, then email to [email protected], who will contact you with the quote.

The scheme starts for ages 22 and over for Comprehensive cover (though 25 for some cars), & 19 and over for TPF&T cover, and you must have at least 1 year's NCB (unless you have NCB on a second car or a company car letter to state at least 1 year's claim free driving).

All drivers must have held a full UK licence for at least 1 year, and to insure a 'performance' car, there must be at least 1 years experience of driving that, or similar performance cars. Unfortunately, the scheme is not competitive on all M - Manchester, L - Liverpool, OL - Oldham & SK1-12 - Stockport postcodes and excludes Northern Ireland.

1.WE WILL ONLY QUOTE IF YOUR CAR INSURANCE RENEWAL DATE IS WITHIN 21 DAYS OF THE DATE OF YOUR EMAIL,
2.PLEASE ANSWER EVERY QUESTION BELOW,
3.COPY & PASTE ALL THE TEXT FROM 'NAME OF CLUB' DOWN TO THE BOTTOM
4.EMAIL THIS TO [email protected]
5.WE WILL RING YOU BACK WITH THE QUOTE. (IF YOU HAVEN'T HEARD ANYTHING WITHIN 24 HOURS, PLEASE RING US AS WE INTEND TO LEAVE MESSAGES & SEND EMAILS SAYING WE HAVE TRIED TO CONTACT YOU).

Here you go - (if at all possible, can you reply in CAPITALS and different font/colour please?)

Hi

A tip off!!!

The 'word on the street' is that premiums are 'hardening' meaning that they are going up.

HOWEVER.................

I was in the office yesterday & the New Business Manager told me that due to the success of our insurance scheme this year, the set targets each month have been upped by 25% remarkably! This started on 1/10/09.

Even though we have had a good month already, on reckoning it could be that we are just under the set target so he told me that premiums will be even cheaper for people who have renewal dates from now until 31/10/09 just so that these targets can be met!!!

The difficulty is that from now until February, there aren't as many people insuring cars.

My thought is that, because of these quieter months, the premiums will continue to be cheaper for those who have renewal dates for now, November, December, January & early February.

All I'd say is it's worth a call ESPECIALLY if your renewal date is within these months.

(My long-term thought is that if the insurers show a decent profit due to increased business but at lower premiums, then this will continue throughout next year but that is only me surmising!).

After recording our 3rd best month ever in July, we have done it again in October - our 3rd best month ever! So thank you to everyone who has rung.

We've also now provided the option of emailing your quote details to us if you can't contact us by phone & the thread for that is found in an insurance section or my original post offering the scheme.

We are already way ahead in November based on previous years so I would encourage you to ring us (or email using the special template form only) when your car insurance renewal is due.

It really is a good time to ring us!

hi, i have in insurance related question if you wouldnt mind answering it.

its on behalf of my dad really. he holds a private insurance policy for his transit van, and has done for the last 15 years as i know of, it is only used for social domestic and pleasure (or whatever it is), it has no commercial use. i am a named driver on that policy.

my question is, would my dads partner / girlfriend / spouce (basically my step mum but not married) be covered on his policy?

would she be on one of your policys? and are all insurers different, so for instance she would be on one of your policies but on another she wouldnt?

ive read quite a few different thing on the net, some say she would be covered some say she wouldn't be.

what are your thoughts???

cheers scott

No she wouldn't as, if she has the driving other cars extension, it is for cars only.

She would have to be added to his policy.

Things are back to normal here after the snow! Sorry for any disruption though we are moving to a town in March where half the staff live anyway so we shouldn't encounter the difficulties we had getting into here earlier this month!

Hi

If your car insurance renewal (or home, travel, car breadown for that matter!) is due in August, please feel free to ring for a quote on our scheme. In the next few weeks, we will have the September rates installed on our computers so we can quote for that month when that happens.

Our numbers are 0800 917 2274 or 01424 200477 and please don't forget to quote the club reference number found in my signature.

Hi

If your car insurance renewal is due in September, please feel free to ring us for a quote on our scheme!

The parameters have changed in that the scheme insurers don't accept bhp increase mods by more than 20bhp or people with more than one conviction or who have had a fault claim in the last 12 months.

We have October rates in our system now so if your car insurance renewal is due, please feel free to ring us for a quote.

0800 917 2274 or 01424 200477 and please state the forum name and/or reference number found in my signature.

By the way, if you have home insurance, here is a post from a forum written yesterday - 'Our home insurance is up for renewal, so I decided to get a quote from the club scheme to see if there as good for home as they are for car insurance. My renewal from (.........) was £413 a year. Chris knott a bargain £318 a year.'

So try us on your home insurance as well!

Hi
There has been a lot of talk about people being charged for putting winter tyres on their cars.

Can I just say to save any uncertainty we will not charge for anyone doing this though you do have to notify us if you add them?

May I also wish you all a very Happy Christmas and peaceful New Year.

After a strange few months of changing criteria and shifting patterns in the insurance market, January for us, in terms of business, surpassed January 2010 (before all these changes took place) showing that the current scheme seems to be working rather well!

I like to think it’s because I’ve put my photo as my avatar but the rest of the team think that has had a detrimental effect. They may have a point!

So, please feel free to ring us if your car (or home) insurance is due in the next few weeks!

might just give ya call early march. see if ya can give me a better deal than my current insurer and not a stupid price like ya did last year....... was something like double if not more what my present insurance company charged me............ ( was a short call ):p
