Micra doesn't like going right :p

As some of you may know I recently replaced my fuel pump as the previous one decided to go on strike. Since then the Micra has developed an annoying but hilarious fault. When the gauge is between the 1/2 and 1/4 mark, if I take a corner to the right hard, the pump draws in air so I have no power... untill I straighten out again. Mechanic says its due to the pumps not being exactly idenitcal and that it cannot be fixed, the only solution is to not let the car go under the 1/2 mark.

Any truth to this? Sounds a bit like he's making excuses to me so he doesn't have to go for another petrol bath...

aye, sounds like the pickup pipe is too high eh !

strange as the pump has its on box it sits in at the bottom its fastend.
got to d i y some easy stuff or " they" may ruin the car. prime example this maybe.
