Hi there

the micra started to have these problems with the light switch.

when switched on to low beam, left side is on but doesnt have parkers and right side low beam is off but the parker is on.

the high beam light is always on also and when i indicate to my left it flickers very quick but the right is normal.

Anyone out there encountered this problem on their micras before?

could it be just the indicator/light stalk?

cheers

First thing to check would be the earth points of the headlights/indicators.

Poor earthing points can cause weird issues such as the ones you describe.

+2 for checking earth points.
As for one indicator going faster than the other usually means a bulb may be out.

Have you got the right globes in the headlights? 60/55w H4
and parkers are W5W wedge.

Also check the plugs have not internally melted causing the circuits to join. Its quite common on micras especially if you've had higher power globes in the light.

So the problem is with the drivers side plug.

if its unpluged high beam light is off but bulb isnt on.

is there a way to fix the plug or should i just it replaced.

The stock Micra headlight plugs were just ok if you don't uprate the bulbs to a higher wattage. Get an auto electrician to fit better quality plugs. You should find your lighting to be much improved.

Doubt it will help with your lightening problem though. ;-)

Yes.. You can buy a plug from me and ill send it your way $20

Or you can chop off the plug, put on some slip on joiners and put the wires on that way. Make sure you get full power on both lines. Ive done this method and one wire was damaged so I had to run a jumper from the other 12v line. End result was loss of highbeam on one light from time to time but small loss for big gain.
