Keyless entry boot inop

we have had our Micra (keyless entry) a few days for my wife to use as a learner car.
Since purchasing, The boot switch seems to have pressed too far into the housing. Upon trying to gain access by dropping the rear seats, I've noticed the pull tabs are missing.
Any tips?
