K12 tyres question

Hi guys,

I'm thinking about buying a bog-standard K12 but I've been told that they use non-standard tyres that can only be sourced from Nissan dealerships and which cost a bomb. Is this true?

Thanks!

Whilst buying tyres for my K11 the local tyre fitter did mention how expensive standard size K12 tyres were, but not out of this world expensive, it's an unusual size so is a bit dear compared to similar sized tyres.

I'm sure you'd get tyres at any tyre place, perhaps a slightly different size than standard would be a cheaper option when needed.

OK thanks... so what actually *is* the size of official K12 tyres? And what would be a safe alternative (cheaper) size to use?

they're not that bad and you definitely dont have to source them from nissan dealership only. i bought 4 dunlops at £65 each fitted.

We have put kumho's on our SR160 and they are only £45 a tyre fitted. You get what you pay for, as the kumho's wear quite quicky. But grip well. Its good to shop around.
