K12 boot sensor problems

My boot has started opening and closing on my 53 micra I'm aware it is a common fault as it happened on a previous micra. Does anyone have any DIY fixes that a regular guy could do rather than pay the ridicules Nissan costs?

I believe Jordan on here took the handle apart and soldered in a new micro-switch from Maplin, works perfectly for a ghetto fix .

Now the boot won't open at all?

If you pull off the plastic trim, you should be able to access all the gubbins in the lock. Might help.
