K11 Rear rot around filler pipe

Hi , everyone.
This is my first time on this forum, we have been given a 2001 K11 Micra 1.0 for my wife to learn to drive in.
It has a years tax and mot but i have noticed a lot of rot around the filler neck in the wheel arch.
Any ideas if this would be a simple enough DIY fix to get it through the next mot or just scrap it when the mot is up????
It is in great condition apart from this.

thats quite bad eh jonny, it will fail the mot if its within 300mm of a structural area iirc

Yeah its bad, I think I'm going to give it a go repairing it as I have got the lend of a wielder. I just need to get a picture of the original shape around the petrol filler pipe.
