K11 Micra Soundsystem Help.

Hey,

Right, I want to install a new cd player and speakers into my 1998 Twister S Reg. micra. I'm looking at getting this Radio:

Just wondered if anybody could tell me how to go about installing it.

Also, what size speakers should I get to facilitate the Radio?

Any help would be greatly appreciated

It might be worth getting a Haynes manual in order to find out how to take the old radio out, but usually its a case of unscrewing the centre console to access the screws for the radio .

The front speakers are 17cm/6.5" units, but your maximum mounting depth without any extra baffles is 55mm so keep that in mind!

You should amp your speakers. Running them froma head unit is awful.

That adds a whole load of cost though....

A headunit and speaker upgrade is enough for most people.

52 watts per channel will give enough power for decent sound without an amp.

Yep. Well they should do, I think the measurements come under 6.5 Inches. Which is the size for the micra.. however the mounting depth may be a little big, but if you're capable I think you can make your own mounts so the speaker sits out a little bit. Not to sure.... Hmmmm.

Well it shouldn't be too difficult to make a quick MDF mount and wack that on there.

I have to say the Infinity sound better amped.. and the Pioneer werent too bad off the head unit!

That's tempting, but I'm really after the AUX input - purely because of friends and their ipods etc.
