K11 Head Unit fitting

I'm about to fit a new head unit into my Insperation.
Removing the old unit I found that instead of a cage it had two brackets halfway down the head unit.

Can anybody give me some advise on how to fit a cage - do I just glue/solder the brackets to a cage or can you buy a specialist one?

You can mount the cage in the plastic centre console cutout, should be a good tight fit

However, what year is your k11?

it's a T reg (2000 i think)

not that it matters, but T is 98 possible going into 99, but same as the 2000 models anyway.

forgive me for being a parrot but just as Retepetsir says, will be a nice snug fit if you put the rectangular cage through the rectangular opening on the centre console.

You dont need those brackets from your old head unit if you installing the new head unit in the manor above.

if it is too too tight then dont force it, just take a file and file the corners of the opening on the console down a bit, not to much though as the cage will be loose otherwise.
