K11 - Fuel Tank capacity 42L?

I have a 1996 1.3 CVT. I do a lot of miles in my K11.

What is the fuel tank capacity on a 1996, K11? I can only get 30L max into my tank when well into the red.

However, the haynes manual says it;s 42L capacity and so do a few posters on here.

Why can't I get 42L into my tank? Could there be an air vent blockage?

It would be handy to get 42L into my tank as would cut down filling up every 4 days!

Probably water in the tank, or the reserve is very high

ok. I must admit I have never run it down until it conks out. I am just relying on what the needle is telling me.
