K11 CG13DE idle rattle

Have been gifted a K11 1.3LX CVT.

95k miles, in needs of some body work.

All in all not to bad.

But on idle there is a bit of rattle which I think is from the cam chain. Non under revs or loaded revs, just at bottom idle.

Could this just be that it need cam chain tensioner replacing?

we would only be guessing idlehanz, its only a 5 minute job to lift the cam cover to check

quite a lot of k11's on here have chain rattle. Mine has nutorious chain rattle but have been told its nothing to worry about on these... like yours, mine don't make any bad noises up the revs etc.

Depending on how bad the rattle is then yeah the tensioier getting replaced could work!

i got that when cold engine, few minutes later it is gone, dr said its ok for now

I'll leave it. Might as well do the whole shooting match of chains, followers, tensioners guides etc when its seems it really needs it.
