K11 1 Ltr engine 'coughs! - anyhelp??

Hey everyone - I've got a 93 k11 on a L plate. It's a great car and I'm in the process of modifying it from top to bottom but have a small problem with the engine. When you're driving along it randomly 'coughs' and jerks with loss of power repeatedly, then a few seconds later it's fine again!!

I've adjusted the idle speed and the spring with the screw next to the throttle cable on the throttle assembly and this seems to have done it. But what would cause this problem in the first place, also is it going to happen again??

Any help would be grately appreciated.

if it ever cuts out completly then it is likly to be your throttle body..

if ya do a search on it there are thousands of topics! lol

thanks glenn, i think it's a case now of just seeing if it comes back again - the engine itself doesn't cut out - just loses power but seems to be fine at the mo.

change your fuel filter might help also, can't see how the idle screw would have fixed it htough...
