K & N Bolt on filter advice

Yes mate that should be straight bolt on, you will need to block the vacuum pipe that connects to the stock air pan

thank you. I'm pretty hopeless so what do you recommend blocking off the vacuum pipe with? what does this pipe actually do i.e. by blocking it off am I compromising some aspect of the engine?

I just shove a 6mm bolt down the pipe, im not 100% sure exactly what it does, but ive never felt any noticable differance with it removed

I prefered the K&N replacement filter, turn the air pans lid upside down and get an M6 stud from B&Q to replace the stud that normaly holds down the lid.
Doesn't look as "cool" but sucks in less hot air and further modifications to the trumpet can improve cold air flow from the front.
