just out of curiosity - did anyone die in any of those accidents? Dont think it should be a laughing matter really. how would you feel if one of your family members died in a car accident and then you seen the pic on a forum with people joking about polish? Not nice eh, i understand that it may only be a harmless joke but put yourself in their shoes,

There was an injury report at the end of each pic, there were no fatalities, just cuts and bruises in the first one, nothing too serious...

on wreckedexotics.com the family are asked if the pictures can be used, even the pictures of cars where someone died (bad crashes section). also the weird/funny section doesnt include fatal crashes.

wayne: "i could use that black bit for something"

wait a min, isnt that wayne wi the white hard hat on pulling the remains of the front bumper off??

"where theres a will theres a way, you work on saving the drivers life ill ressurect this lil lovely k11"

hahaha lol, yea nothing that a bit of filler and Chicken wire can't fix :)

it's probably ok for a cut 'N' shut job.....

Its legal because its fine to do..

front of one, back of another..

simple really, but due to SIGNIFICANT lack of expertise. Many 'dodgy' garages killed/badly injured people. In rallying and autograss this is common practice..

It has to be certified or done by a recognised garage or something like that but is perfectly legal so long as it's declared. If done properly it's as safe as the original too...

its very unsafe though, as the chassis is in two pieces, just welded together, this is a real weakpoint in the car so is unsafe! Im still shocked that it is allowed!

Welding, if done properly can be as strong as the surrounding metal. The original chassis wasn't made from one continuous sheet of metal... Also the weld is likely to be stronger than several other points in the car where there are sharp corners or changes of direction or anywhere that has a hole in.

Cut and shuts have to be reregistered on a 'Q' plate to reflect the fact that the car is substantially altered and as such undergoes a rigorous test (like the MOT but more thorough) to ensure it is safe.

The weld isn't the problem, it's the competence of the welder!
