Hello to all you Micra nuts.
Remember me? White Knight/Family Hack.( the old fart)
Been a while but hell a big move to Nam. settling in getting sorted etc etc.
Just catching up on the site and see Whitey heading to S.A. Happy its found a home.If the new owner wants to e mail me about the car feel free. Bit of history to it.No idea why head gasket blew as it was not pulling massive amounts of boost and it was a standard head gasket. Did it overheat at some stage as I had the radiator fan connected manually( switch on steering column) as I was having problems getting it to work and had not got round to sorting so rewired it to a manual switch. I found with the larger radiator in cooler weather temp gauge flat out getting to normal. To the new owner the supercharger belt is a Gatorback brand No. 5PK0980.You can adjust the pulleys when it starts to slip( you will hear it)I found this belt the best re wear and a good fit.
No Micras here and its all left hand drive and all maniacs. Do not drive at all get driven to and from work in company car. Toyota Innova.Life very boring re the car scene here. No modded cars at all and been a long long time since I heard a blow off valve.Wife belts around on a 125 cc Honda Wave.About all you need as traffic most of the times doing about 20/25kph if on motor bike if in car less due to traffic jams.
Anyway good to be back on the site and catching up with all on the Micra scene. The K12 does not rate.
Who knows may get back into a K11 just before coming home but thats like 3 years away.Cheers, David

Hey David, I am sure there are heaps of the guys on Micra files who'll be glad to hear that you have returned for an on-line visit. :)

I have bought Whitey (most people seem to call it White Knight though). It is on a truck from Perth to Adelaide right now. I can't wait to get her back to 100%. Yes I'd like to be able to email you for some advice thanks :D

First thing is to determine whether my trusted mechanic can do the work to it or if I need to find a performance car specialist.

Cheers, Matt.

David!
NOW you show up! hahahahahahaha. Geez I had so many things I wanted to ask you and here you are just after I sold White Knight. I even went so far as to call your mechanic in Tasmania to see if he remembered anything about the car (he did somewhat).

It did not overheat until after the head gasket blew. Well, we diagnosed it as it was overheating because of the head gasket probably. I always remembered to turn the manual fan switch on.

Loved the car. Sad to see it go. Hope Matt enjoys it as much as I did.

Can you believe I am now getting a Swift Sport as well ;) ?

Hi Justo.
Sorry was not around but with the move and some immediate family tragedies Micras were not on my mind. Everything fine now so time to surface again into Micra world.Yes I have been in contact with Matt and I am sure White Knight will live on. The head gasket issue strange. The gasket on it was stock standard. When Matt lifts the head maybe reason why will become clearer.A Swift Sports eh. There is a guy in Qld. sells after market goodies like cold air intake, extractors and even a complete turbo kit. I had the after market cold air intake on mine.I was going to install the extractors as well. Only issue I had with the Swift Sports were the seats. They were hard and after 2 hours driving your bum was getting sore. Plenty of support but just lacked under the bum padding. I enjoyed it but must admit climbing into either of my Micras was more fun.

Yeah my mate at the dealership already pointed out to me that there's a factory turbo/supercharger (can't remember which) kit for 4k ;) I'm not planning on doing any performance mods. I heard the ecu doesn't like mods as well.

Seats are fine. I've spent 2 weeks "test driving" the Sport and have no issue. I felt the micra ones were too hard and lacked any padding at all! Not that I found them uncomfortable. Just a bit too low.....boy what I would have given for an adjustable steering column.

Got a stock swift to "test drive" for now. So boring. But I wanted to see the difference.

I also have current model Swift, and I dunno if I'd be touching many of their products.

The turbo kit for the regular Swift (nothing available yet in Australia for Swift Sport) is a Chinese kit with questionable parts at best. The turbos are known to blow from next to nothing, and the E-Manages that are provided are usually knock-offs.

A guy on Redline GTi got the kit on his new Swift, supposedly through a dealer, and no proper warranty coverage after the install from Suzuki. Months and months of absolute pain trying to get his car completed too. Finally done now but I think he's selling it because he's over it.

The company has a bad rep over at Redline GTi based on their business practices and the questionable quality of some of their products.

Sorry for hijacking the thread, just wanted to warn anyone who may have thought about their stuff that it may not be the best way to go.
