Hub Nuts

Hi,
I need to remove the hub nuts from a 1.3 and 1.0 K11 both front and back. The front one's have a strange looking pattern, not the usual 6-sided nut. Where can i get a socket from and what do i need ? Also what one is needed for the rear ones ?

is it just a 12 sided castleated cover that comes off when the pin is removed matt ?
and the size varies from 27mm to 30mm iirc (depending on year of manufacture)

That's the one, how do i know which size i want ?

you,ll have to remove it matt and see, (the rears will need a humdinger breakerbar btw, 220nm )

But i need to know what size socket to buy to remove it.

I've got a mains powered rattle gun, so undo'ing it shouldn't be too much of a problem.

I answered my own question today, the 12-sided nut was in fact a cover over the hub nut to hold the split pin in place. With this removed on both the 1.0 & 1.3 the hub size is 30mm.

New question.... are the hubs from a '95 1.0 and '94 1.3 the same i.e are the outer CV's the same ?

and no matt, the pre98 1.0 has a smaller CV joint

all the hubs are the same matt, the C/V,s and shafts are different only :grinning:

Even if the CV's on the pre '98 1.0 are smaller ? If so that's good news as its one less job to do ! (Here's hoping !)
