how would i respray car? what sandpaper is advised ?

im thinking of spraying car either silver or a nice black, i can get the primer, paint and laquer easily, i just neeed to know how to remove paint? do i use rough sandpaper and go all the way to the metal? or just to reveal the old primer underneath and start from there ?

Tbh if you're having to ask this question then do you not think a full respray may be just a little ambitious?

no, coz i resprayed my mums bonnet, only that was a sprare that was bare, no paint

If your paintwork is in decent condition then just take the shine off with scotch pads to provide a key. Also there are s**tloads of videos on YouTube to help you out

the paint is okay i guess, but had a bump recently which badly dented and scratched both passenger doors, and its hard to find replacement same colour, so would be easier to just get any colour doors, and respray whole thing instead of driving round looking like the inside of a skittles packet
