How can you clean the idle speed control?

I have recently been having trouble with my Nissan Micra as I come up to junctions and have to put the clutch down.

I have been informed that the idle speed control valve may simply need a clean...but how can this be done and where is it?

hi chocabox, it,s a black valve on the front of the throttlebody (2 screws and lift out)
it,s just a stepper motor that turns the port iirc, and the o ring needs a bit of lube on re-assembly btw
