fule guage fault

iv just brought a new micra last night and it has a problem with the fuel guage, tis just pointing straight down and dosnt budge.

ive replaced the whole clock and it then did the same thing, then checked over all fuses...still no joy

do i now need to remove the pump and re fit/replace :down: (hate doing this as i hate the car stinking after)

Why would you replace the pump if the senders the problem????:suspect:

Take the whole unit out and try clean the contacts on the sender

Yeah, and gently pry the bend on the contact in order it pushes harder. With time it becomes soft.

the sender clips off, do that and see if anything looks faulty. maybe the float has come off??

iv now fixed it guys and omg!!!!!

the fuel lines had no clips on and were only parshley pushed on and the sender and pump were mearly just droped in the tank fwn
