Fuel n Oil

Hi All,

Before throwing fully synth in I was wondering if anyone has been able to note any appreciable difference in doing so? Same goes for fuel (BP 98), I have tried a tankful but didn't note anything big, usually run BP 95.

You won't be able to detect the most noticeable differences without lab testing the oil afterwards

Your micra wont take the benefit of 98RON fuel or even 95RON without you advancing the timing either.

Thing is, if you're advancing the timing with the way you described a while back Yom, I was told it was generally advised against advancing the timing over the entire rev range, rather than doing it just in the top-end where it's needed - and instead change it via ECU tuning.. or something. That may or may not make sense, and I may be remembering it wrong but some clarification on this would be helpful.

You could just tell me on MSN but it might be beneficial to others

Made sense to me dens and its true.

But its easier just to advance it over the whole RPM range.

the other option is way to expensive.

just keep adding timing till it pings, then back it of a touch.

Changed the oil to full synthetic.....the ol cg13 spins like a top! yeehoooooo.... Will give it a shot turbo march....
