Front end noises

Hi gang, My 1999 Inspiration 1.0L has a rattle coming from the front wheels when running over rough surfaces (just about everywhere at the moment !). This noise disappears if very gentle pressure is applied to the brake pedal. Any idea's

ball joint ,brake pads, have ya had alook to see if anything is broken

Thanks Andy, nothing apparent when I was last under there. Will have another look in the morning. Would the disappearance of problem by light hydraulic pressure on the brakes indicate loose pads or something ?

thats what i was thinking yes..............check for play on the wheel bearing ......is it both sides?

while you are down there check those heat shields... noisy beggers!
