www.mightymicra.co.uk
hi guys, just got back from Holiday yesterday an d thought i'd go for a drive...

i've only been gone a week and it was ok before i went...

it wouldnt. turn on at all did everything but then noticed it did smell funny... i could hear the burn and smell it now...

so i quickly wipped off the fascia and bottom plastics and the ecu was hot on one side....

opened it up and found two wires touching... FRIED
--------------------------------------------

Can this be sorted and will it be easy to match another ecu to my car...EG do i just get another NATS ecu from scrappers and put it in or does it ahve to be worked on.

or would a none nats work in it...

I tried a Non NATS ecu in my car when my NATS died and wouldn't work.

I do have a 1.0L NATS ECU though I'm 99% sure that you'd need to fit it, then get Nissan to re-programme it for your key

My NATS is dead, the key sensor broke, and that would have needed re-programming.

I believe the wiring is different for NATS and NON-NATS too. Though, I believe Kristian can convert NATS to NON-NATS?

you need to try and buy an ecu with corrospoonding key chips i think

yeh mate just been chattin to phil (alienfish) and the costs start to mount up...

this nihgtmare along with the radiator problem i had just makes me wanna sell up... need to think about this one... hard, as i dont think i would want to break it over repairing it but the costa are too high...

ohh well thats life...

Hey MM, try the breakers on Gorton Road in Gorton, they've got a few late Micras in, and I'm pretty sure they could sort you out with an ECU and matching key, they even have a couple of Super s's in if anyone needs any parts.

first off if you havent already tried. you say when you turned the key you got nothing, meaning your battery could be flat, charge it, plug everything back in and try again, might not be as bad as it looks, cant get any worse can it. thats what id do.
