Fixing/replacing sills

Anyone know if this is an expensive and difficult job to do? I tried jacking my car up the other night to change a puncture and the jack just went straight through the rust in the sill

Hi darlo, it really does depend on how much rust/rot the sill has. The usual spot for the sills to go is infront of the rear wheels. Plates can be welded ontop of the old sills and the rust cut back by most garages i would say. I welded mine up myslef and there still going strong. Like i said it really depends how badly they are rusting through(Y). Hope this is of some help

Yeah it was just infront of the rear wheel, well it all looks alright but I think its all weak tbh....

I had mine in to weld up about 6 inch on one sill near rear arch, garage charged just short of £60.

I had just over a foot welded on each sill and the whole length of each sill undersealed for £80.
