Fitting a cd player

I roughly know how to get to the standard tape player in my micra and still have the CD player out of my old fiesta which i need to now fit. Is it best just to go to Halfrauds and pay nearl £15 for an adaptor or can any wiring be connected and tied together?

Obviously its easier with an adapter, then if you sell the car you can take your cd player and not leave butchered wiring, but all the wiring could be connected up. (Providing that is your CD player has its own adaptor, in my car i have Nissan > Iso > Panasonic.)
