Factory air box pipe

Are there any advantages/disadvantages to removing the original air box pipe on a 1.0l so that the air box just sits with a hole in the side? Bearing in mind conditions in the UK, is this gonna affect the warm air feed? Also, any ideas on getting the damn thing off?!

Go to the technical articles, and download the " resoldering TB " there are pictures where u an see how easy it is!

You have a plastic band near the hole to the air box and a srew just in the back of the batery...

Removing the air intake pipe alone on my 1.3 brought about a small increase in performance with no noticeable power loss or change in throttle response from the hot air in the engine bay. This was on a 40degree Celcius day too.
