Exhaust back box

Hey people ... After only owning my second micra a month my exhaust has gained a nice hole exactly where the pipe goes in to the back box ... My question is has anyone pulled off the old back box but still using the pipe that runs over the axle and fitted a after market box ?

You can do. I've heard of it being done. But I prefer to not have a back box (make it look like it fell off )sounds good.
