engine oil

bit of a silly question but i have misplaced my manuel for my car and i need to know what engine oil to use, 1998 micra twister 1.0 cheers

hi im pretty sure in my manual it states 15w - 40w i have a 97 micra 1.0

10w40 semi-synth would work best imo on that car. You need 3.2L in total.

yep its 10w40 altough some places reccomend diffrent.

The haynes does say 15w40, but the 10w40 is thinner i think? i've been told it's better for the 1.0 engine by a mechanic i know, and the dude at the parts desk in the garage!Guess they know best.

Mineral oil or semi-synt for a gasoline essence K11 1 from 998 with 80 000km ?
Each people I asked gave me a different answer :s

Don't use mineral oil, use semi-synth.

If you go with 5w40 (not really needed on a standard car) then fully synth is also fine.
